Materials: ·Mac Computers with Garage Band
Prior Knowledge: Students will have already learned what helping and linking verbs are and how to use them.
Procedure: Day 1
·Students will work in groups to decide on a tune to use for their song. ·They will pick either helping or linking verbs.
Day 2 ·Students will see a demonstration of how to use Garage Band. ·They will have a chance to “play” with it.
Day 3 ·Students will create their song using Garage Band.
Day 4 ·Students will share their songs. ·The class will vote on the best song, and that group will receive a small prize. · Assessment: Students will be assessed based on their ability to use Garage Band as well as the usage of linking or helping verbs.
